Bonneville Garage Academy offers onsite, hands-on CTE classes for homeschool students, co-ops, learning pods, and private groups. Classes are project-based, age-aware, and built around real tools, practical skills, and safe guided instruction.
How Classes Work
Classes are customized based on student age, experience level, available workspace, group size, and the type of project being taught. Each class can be taught as a one-day workshop, a short multi-week class, a summer camp, or an ongoing homeschool enrichment course.
Level 1: Beginner
For students who are new to tools and shop work. Students learn safety, tool identification, measuring, basic assembly, and simple guided projects.
Level 2: Builder
For students who are ready for more involved projects. Students practice planning, measuring, cutting, repairing, assembling, and solving problems with guidance.
Level 3: Skilled
For students with tool confidence who are ready for more independence. Students work through more advanced projects with greater responsibility, craftsmanship, and problem-solving.

Class Areas
Automotive Maintenance
Students learn vehicle safety, basic maintenance, inspections, fluids, tires, batteries, belts, brakes, and other practical skills that help them understand and care for a vehicle.
Example projects may include: basic vehicle inspection, tire pressure and tread check, battery service, fluid check, belt inspection, brake part identification, or simple maintenance planning.
Metal Fabrication
Students learn measuring, layout, cutting, drilling, fastening, shaping, and basic metal project construction.
Example projects may include: metal key holder, shop hook, small bracket, tool holder, simple sign, or useful take-home fabrication project.
Wood Fabrication
Students learn measuring, cutting, sanding, assembly, finishing, and project planning through useful woodworking projects.
Example projects may include: small shelf, toolbox, birdhouse, stool, keepsake box, or simple household project.
Practical Shop Skills
Students learn everyday hands-on skills that build independence and confidence.
Example projects may include: tool identification, tape measure practice, hardware matching, basic home repair, fastener use, simple fixes, and project planning.
