Bonneville Garage Academy provides onsite, hands-on CTE classes designed to help homeschool students build confidence, practical skills, and safe work habits. Classes are project-based, age-aware, and adjusted to the needs of each student or group.
Safety Comes First
Student safety is the foundation of every class. Students are taught proper tool use, shop behavior, personal protective equipment, and safe work habits before beginning hands-on activities.
Class projects are selected based on student age, experience level, available workspace, group size, and the tools or materials being used.
Onsite Class Expectations
Because classes are taught onsite, the class location must have a safe and appropriate workspace for the activity. This may include a garage, shop area, driveway, covered workspace, classroom, or other approved location.
Before a class is scheduled, Bonneville Garage Academy will discuss the location, project type, student ages, available tools, safety needs, and supervision expectations.
What Students Should Wear
Students should wear clothing appropriate for hands-on shop work.
Closed-toe shoes are required.
Long hair should be tied back.
Loose clothing, dangling jewelry, and unsafe accessories should not be worn.
Safety glasses or other protective equipment may be required depending on the class activity.
Student Behavior
Students are expected to listen, follow directions, respect tools and materials, and work safely with others. Hands-on classes work best when students are willing to learn, ask questions, and participate respectfully.
Unsafe behavior may result in a student being removed from an activity or class.
Class Scheduling
Classes are scheduled by appointment based on student needs, group size, location, project type, and availability. Classes may be offered as one-day workshops, short multi-week classes, summer camps, private group classes, or homeschool enrichment sessions.
Parent / Group Supervision
For onsite classes, a parent, co-op leader, or approved adult may need to remain present depending on the class location, student age, group size, and project activity. Supervision expectations will be discussed before scheduling.
